GOVERNOR MUTFWANG JOINS NORTH CENTRAL COLLEAGUES IN CELEBRATING SEN. GEORGE AKUME'S APPOINTMENT AS SGF Plateau

 


State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, joined his fellow North Central colleagues and other distinguished Nigerians in celebrating Sen. George Akume's appointment as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.


He commended the appointment as well-deserved, highlighting Sen. Akume's extensive experience and noteworthy contributions to Nigeria's political landscape.


Governor Mutfwang conveyed his feelings during a reception organized by the North Central Governors Forum in honor of Sen. George Akume. 


The event, held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, was attended by a diverse group of political figures.


Governor Mutfwang described Sen. Akume as an exemplary representative of the North Central Zone, citing his impressive track record as a two-term Executive Governor of Benue State, a two-term Senator, and recently, an Honourable Minister.


In his words, "I am honored to be present to celebrate a seasoned politician, a proficient administrator, and an individual who has risen to the highest echelons of government. This appointment is fitting and well-deserved, and I am confident that the trust placed in you by the President will remain unwavering."


Governor Mutfwang, said despite his affiliation with the People's Democratic Party, PDP, there was need for all to unite and support Sen. George Akume to enable him to succeed in his new office. He emphasized that the occasion transcends partisan lines and aims to give due recognition where it is merited.


Vice President Kashim Shettima echoed a similar sentiment and said  the event was a gathering of individuals united by their dedication to Nigeria's progress. 

He advocated for collaborative efforts to foster a more favorable business environment in the country.


Sen. Shettima lauded Akume as a peace advocate who has contributed significantly to Nigeria's unity. He called for united support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's efforts to enhance the nation's prosperity.


Sen. George Akume, the newly appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the honor. 


Despite the nation's challenges, he highlighted the President's promising start and appealed for collective support.


Akume acknowledged Tinubu's seasoned political experience and underscored the importance of Nigerians rallying behind the President's vision for national growth.
