SENATOR DIKET PLANG EMPOWERS OVER THREE THOUSAND WOMEN IN PLATEAU CENTRAL


In a bid to promote sustainable economic growth and development in society, Senator Diket Plang, representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, recently organized a one-day training program for women in soap making and digital marketing. Held at the MNS Resort in Pankshin and People's House in Mangu on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the event aimed to empower women and equip them with the necessary skills to thrive in today's digital age.

The Women Empowerment Programme, facilitated by Senator Diket Plang, was organized in collaboration with the Federal Polytechnic Ukana and saw over 3000 participants from the five local government areas of the zone. Regardless of their tribes, religions, or political affiliations, these participants were carefully selected to ensure a diverse and inclusive representation.

During the program, Senator Diket Plang stressed the importance of women empowerment in fostering peace and unity within the zone. He highlighted that promoting gender equality and providing opportunities for women to enhance their economic potential are essential for the overall growth and development of any society. As the senator sensitized the beneficiaries on the significance of the program, he encouraged them to make the most of the initiative and utilize their newfound skills to create a positive impact in their communities.

Senator Diket Plang also proudly shared some of his significant achievements in his short time in office. He highlighted being the first senator in the 10th Assembly to present a motion and a bill, as well as being the first senator to organize a training program for over 3000 beneficiaries in less than two months. These accomplishments are a testament to his dedication and commitment to serving the people and improving their livelihoods.

The event featured goodwill messages from various stakeholders, including the wife of the distinguished senator, Prof. Janet Plang, who expressed her admiration for the senator's love and concern for the less privileged. The participants at the program lauded Senator Diket Plang for his kind gesture and pledged their continued support to his government and that of President Bola Tinubu.



The program also includes practical sessions in soap making, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge. At the end of the training, certificates were presented to all participants, recognizing their successful completion of the program.


Senator Diket Plang's continuous efforts to uplift the lives of the people demonstrate his unwavering dedication and commitment to the welfare of his constituents. His focus on empowering women, the poor, the needy, and the neglected showcases his genuine concern for the marginalized groups in society.
